Position Overview:
We are currently seeking compassionate and responsible individuals to join us as Pet Walkers for our sanctuary. This role involves providing daily walks and playtime for our resident dogs, contributing to their physical and mental well-being. Responsibilities:
Dog Walking and Enrichment:
-Conduct on-leash walks for dogs of various sizes and temperaments, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for each dog.
-Engage in playtime and enrichment activities to provide mental stimulation and promote socialization.
Observation and Reporting:
-Monitor the behavior and health of dogs during walks, reporting any concerns or observations to the sanctuary staff.
-Document and communicate any changes in the behavior or well-being of individual dogs.
Client Interaction:
-Interact with potential adopters and visitors, providing information about the dogs and their personalities.
-Foster positive relationships with volunteers and visitors, creating a welcoming environment at the sanctuary.
Scheduling and Coordination:
-Follow assigned walking schedules and coordinate with other Pet Walkers to ensure consistent care for all dogs.
-Communicate any scheduling conflicts or changes promptly to the sanctuary coordinator.
Team Collaboration:
-Work collaboratively with fellow Pet Walkers, volunteers, and sanctuary staff to ensure the well-being of all dogs.
-Attend training sessions and meetings to enhance knowledge of dog behavior and handling.
Requirements
Passion for working with animals and a genuine love for dogs.
Previous experience in handling dogs and a basic understanding of dog behavior.
Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments with care and confidence.
Reliable transportation and a flexible schedule.
